I was saying her name last night and she didn't appear to hear me. I had to repeat myself several times before she responded. Normally, she responds right away. My dad says that Cookie was in the living room, and when he called her she didn't seem to hear him at all. But Treader, who was in the room behind Cookie, did and he came running.
I guess I'm going to have to teach Cookie with hand signals. I use hand signals with my voice commands, and a time or time I've tried the hand signals by themselves. She didn't obey as well, but she did understand them.

Our JRT Baby is 8 years now, and she is showing signs of hearing loss. I had her ears checked, and nothing is wrong, so we did start incorperating hand signals, with treats of course as my JRT is VERY food oriented. It seems to work really well. Another thing that we started doing, is knocking on furniture, or stomping on the floor to get her attention, that helps too!
