| Get him gradually used to you leaving. Don't make a big fuss about leaving. Just leave. You may want to say bye or pet him, which would be fine. Give him a reward when you return. At first, you may want to "practice". For example, leave him and go outside and out of sight for 5 minutes. When you get back, give him a treat. Do this several times over the next few days, gradually increasing the amount of time. He's worried that you won't come back, and doing this will tell him that you will. | |

| I would recommend you crate him when you are away, and perhaps put a blanket over the crate so it feels more like a comfortable den to him, now he may still whine but never give in to him and let him out, this will only make things worse | |
