I was just wondering how GSD's do in flyball? Gideon is fast, athletic, and loves tennis balls, so what do you guys think? Very Happy

I think that any breed can be in Fly Ball. It's just varies with individual dogs.
All dogs seem to enjoy it.

I agree with Cookie. Any breed can do flyball, although BC exell the most at it. It works best on a dog that loves tennis balls, and will allways bring it back to you.

I know GSDs can do it, as I remember seeing a few at crufts a few years back. Mind you, they didn't get into the finals xD

But, Its a fun thing to do with your dog. It'll increase your bond, and make them fitter ^^

Oh, and something that someone who does Fly Ball with her two Shelties told me - what's msot important in Fly Ball is not that they love tennis balls (though that does help a lot), but what is important is that they can work even with distractions.

Sasha started Flyball basic class a couple of weeks ago.
She picked up so quick - on the very first day, she figured out how to press the box for the ball. Even with lots of other dogs nearby (some barking constantly) she had no problem jumping over the hurdles to get to the box.

Our instructor said she has a great Paw-tential! Very Happy
