Cookie is gone... Empty
PostSubject: Cookie is gone...   Cookie is gone... Icon_minipostedSun Mar 27, 2011 1:56 am

I forgot how to post pictures on here now...heh. (Oh yeah, also I am the user CookieTN, I just changed my display name.)
Anyways, my Cookiegirl has passed now. Been 2 1/2 weeks since we put her down. She had incontinence, and we were able to manage it with medication for over three years. But this year it quit working, and after a lot of thought, prayer, and tears we made the painful decision to put Cookie to sleep. She was really aging, anyways, just didn't have the same old pep in her step anymore. She was put down the day before her birthday, and she would have been 13 years old.

Here's her Dogster page, it has some really sweet pictures:

And the number of condolences we got surprised me. I never knew Cookie had so many friends. I think I'm largely used to Cookie's absence now...I mean, as far as expecting to see her lying on the floor or something. (But sometimes after I feed Treader I will still be like "Oh no, I almost forgot to feed Cookie!!!" for a second, then I'll be like "Oh...". ) I still miss her, though I am no longer heartbroken over it.
Actually, I think my friends' prayers helped me to realize that I can't spend the rest of my life just thinking about how much Cookie is missed. I don't mean to sound insensitive, I do miss Cookie. If I was offered to have her back, and in full health again, I'd take that offer up in a hearbeat. I've got plenty of precious memories of Cookie, and I do think I'll see her again someday.
