Yesterday, I got to go to a ranch that rescues abused animals like horses, rabbits, cats, dogs, and I think even chickens. It was a field trip. We stayed for three hours and helped out with some of the work there. I helped brush two of the horses (ones was a miniature horse named Hershey and the other one was a regular horse named Samson, Sammy for short). There were also two dogs there, but I only saw one of them. I saw 3 or 4 cats, and a bunch of rabbits (in cages so the cat couldn't catch them of course). I did see lots of chickens.
I finally got to ride a horse when all the work was done! cheers
I'll share some pictures, but I didn't take many because I was busy most of the time.

Hazel, the dog. They said that she is a Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, but to me she looks like Lab, a bit of APBT, and Rhodesian Ridgeback.

This is Sammy. I groomed and later rode him.

This is China.

Don't know this horse's name.

What wonderful photos ... and what a wonderful place. It's too bad we even have to have places to rescue animals, but ... since we obviously do need them ... it's fantastic that there are people willing to dedicate huge chunks of their lives to doing this work. Sounds like you had a wonderful time helping out!
