My 9 week old GSD Yuma has a bit of an issue. Whenever we feed him he pukes it up (only to re-eat it) and no matter what i do to his food (or feed him) he won't stop doing it! It is more gross than anything. He is gaining weight and growing great, so I know he is getting all of his nutrients, but it is really disturbing. Has anyone ver had this problem? He was taken from his Mom a bit earlier than I would have liked, but He seems to be adjusting great and is very well socialized. So, y comments or help on the puking thing would be great! Ia m usually a husky and Wolf dog owner so I guess fro all I now this could be normal? Thanks a ton!
PEACE

Hmm... That is strange. I've never really known a dog to do that =/

Anyway, atleast Yuma's healthy. Hope she stops doing it soon, for your sakes! x3

Is she eating really quickly? If that is the case, she probably would vomit. Try putting something like a large rock, (clean of course) in her bowl, she will have to eat around it, and it will slow her down. Or, try giving her a little bit at a time, and having her wait between more feed. Like maybe a minute or 2.
I hope that everything goes well at the vets!

We already put the rocks in his bowl! He does scarf it down tho! We are ordering one of those break fast bowls and have begun feeding him 3x a day instead! I think it will be ok. he does eat VERY fast! He is just so little that I want a vet to take a look and make sure it isn't something genetic or something like that. Thanks Everyone!

you know what it could be, maybe he was the the runt or the outcast if you will of the litter, and had to rush to get his food, as fast as he could to eat. What i would do is feed him by hand maybe for a week or two. Puppies usually just do that. Or put his food in a muffin pan! Thats what some people recommend! Here are some websites:

1. http://www.my-dog.co.uk/why_does_my_dog_eat_so_fast.htm
(gosh I am so smart!!)

2.http://www.handicappedpets.com/acc/bowl/index.html
(a bowl for you to buy)

Good Luck keep us informed! Very Happy

Try feeding him in a cupcake pan. Divide the food up into each hole.
