Do you use the NILIF [Nothing In Life Is Free] method with your dogs?

I use it with Travis. Before he gets let outside he has to sit. Before he gets let inside he sits. Before he gets fed he sits. Even when we are playing fetch, he has to Platz before I will throw the ball.

It is a method I will continue to use with my GSDs. I find it to be very effective.

Sometimes. I usually make my dogs sit and stay while I fixing their food. (I do that because they will try to dig right into their food while I'm pouring it.) And I make them sit before I put their leash on. (I started that because Cookie used to jump on me like crazy when she saw me get her leash out.)
