Does anyone feed TOTW?

Does anyone feed Taste of the Wild? I recently found that I could get this at my tractor supply and am in the process of switching Kisses. It is a slow process though, since she is going from Pedigree (A grain laden food with literally no meat) to something without grains. She is doing great though, and loving dinner time.

I had done extensive research with what to switch Kisses to, what was in my area, what I could afford on a tight budget. I was going to go with Diamond Naturals when I found that our Tractor Supply carried TOTW. I had wanted to go with Canidae or Wellness, but the store is so far out of the way. However, I might be able to afford to add those in our rotation, along with Diamond Naturals. Anyway, I wanted to hear your stories on what your dog thought of TOTW.

I never heard of that dog food. I am currently feeding Decimus Blue Buffalo. I am looking at trying their organic food. Everything I have read indicates it is a very good quality dog food. It is only sold at Petsmart though.

The canned food from Blue Buffalo has pieces of carrot and beans and seems to have a lot of good stuff in it. I mix it some. Although I find that if Decimus thinks I put any of my own food in his food he gets all excited. So sometimes I just act like I am putting my food in and he gobbles it up.

I would be interested in knowing how your dog continues to adjust to the Taste of the Wild. What is in it?

Nope I have never heard of that. I feed hmm.... what do i feed. I will look and get back, and post more!

The other forum that I belong too a lot of their posters feed their dogs TOTW. They made the switch since a lot of them used to feed Timber Wolf Organics but with there such high increase in price they found TOTW.

Some were skeptical since the food is made by Diamond and with the huge issue with the tainted dog food the other yr that was caused by Diamond. Some say that it is exactly the same as TWO but with cheaper prices.

I would try it out as the ingredients look really good and I know a lot of people that feed it to their dogs.

Test it out and let us know what your dog thinks of it.

It is a great grain free food. Kisses is doing so good on it, not only does she love dinner now, but she has really filled out, more muscle, better skin. I rotate between the flavors, and I also feed her canned Wellness 95% meat with it.

I get the Wole Dog Journal and That journal searches out all information on dog foods. And Blue Buffalo is one company that is not giving information about their dog food. And recently I have seen Blue Buffalo on some lists of bad foods. I had bought some of it. But I'm going to throw away what I have left. I'm afraid of it. And Walmarts pets foods are listed as very bad. They have found the stuff they euthanize dogs and cats with in the food. and they are still finding the Glycol that came from china in some of the foods. So be careful what brand you use. I'm getting so scared anymore. Lately i had gotten away from the raw diet. I had used it and cooked and baked for my dogs for over 10 yrs. I've decided to go back to it again. I use only human grade food in that diet. Last year 2 of our fur kids died. one was 10 and the other was 13. They were both raised on that diet. We have a 9 year old that was on it too. I'm going back to it, then I will know what i am feeding my fur kids.

This is very interesting ... We used to use Blue Buffalo, as well ... seemed pretty good at the time and was ranked high. We've changed to Timberwolf, though, and every stomach issue we ever had with the GSD has cleared up 100%. His puppy-raiser for GSD feeds Eukanuba, and periodically Cruiser would have one of those little runny-puddly bowel issues my vet says GSDs are prone to on occasion. Wasn't any different with the vet's prescription Science Diet. We have not had one since switching 3 years ago. I haven't read the ingredients since I decided to try it out ... I probably should again as things change ... but whatever is in it is working swell for our 4.

I was wrong about Blue Buffalo food. It was put on their good list lately. i heard that they just didn't get the information to Whole Dog Journal in time for the printing of the magazine. Dee
